Challenges to and appeals from arbitration awards

Ben Giaretta is one of the co-authors of The Arbitration Act 1996: A Commentary, published by Wiley Blackwell. In the 6th edition, he was mainly responsible for the sections dealing with challenges to awards and appeals from awards in the English courts (sections 67 to 69 of the Act).

In preparation for the 7th edition, Ben is collecting together lists of the cases relating to sections 67 to 69 of the Act. He will attach his lists below, and you are welcome to download these. Please note: these lists are always works in progress, and will be updated from time to time. If you identify any cases missing from the lists, please email him on bg@bengiaretta.com.

He will also be publishing statistics about ss.67-69 cases on this webpage.

For commentary on the cases on the lists, see The Arbitration Act 1996: A Commentary. However, for reasons of space in the book, Ben is often not able to go into much detail about individual cases in that publication. Also, there is always a gap of a few years between editions of the book. He therefore regularly publishes short articles about ss.67 to 69 cases on the Articles page of this website.
